the only problem I have with Bella is that she is TOO whiny. a little whiny is ok, I mean she has sadistic vampires after her, and she has the ordeal with choosing between two important people, but she was over-dramatizing it in my opinion. she loves Edward, wants to spend her lifetime with him, she shouldn't be cringing over a simple thing like a wedding and she should stop flip-flopping..
I know, I'm looking for a perfect character aren't I? but seriously, she needs to grow up a little bit...
it was a good book, I'm just not as impressed with the series as much as I was at first.

I agree, Little Jane. I thought Bella's excuse for not marrying Edward--I'm not that girl; what will people think?--is totally lame. I mean, really! She's giving up her family, her friends, and her life for Edward--but she worried about what people will think about her getting married? I don't know, I just don't get it...

Seriously, I think that Bella shouldn't worry about what people will think of her if she gets married. They don't even know the real reason why anyways.
You guys guess what? In Amazon, there are some parents complaining about how Eclipse is too inapproriate. I spoke on behalf of my mother, and I think that they are just making a big deal about it. Stephenie Meyer made it very clear on what was right and what was wrong. What do you guys think?

That's exactly what I thought, Amoreforever. Couldn't she find a better excuse? And I think Bella made a fool of herself being that stubborn and mean to Edward. I mean... what's so difficult about understanding him? He was born in 1901. It's just natural for him to want her as his wife. During the whole third book she kept hurting his feelings. How dare she?!

I was so embarrassed when I was reading what she was doing that one night in Edwards room. I was cringing and pleading with the book not to make me read this this that because of Edwards striked rule i was able to be at peace. (I dislike gross romance book with all their sexual comments and conduct) People must had thought I was insane, but I didn't care.
I was extreemly mad when Jacbo kissed Bella. I feel bad for him but that was crossing the line and then when he used her want to keep him safe to get her to kiss him that was so not fair! how could he do that to her.
is it possible for Edward to any better? not only does he stay with her( like he would ever leave again) after ythe whole jake thing he does let her get ride of the braslet that he gave he telling her " No bella" " It's part of who you are" that was so sweet it had to be hard on him knowing that she also love Jake sho is also a werewolf!
I was jumping up and down on August 13 because it was the Day set dfor the wedding my friend couldn't figer it out( she hadn't finished yet)
When does the next book come out ? I need it!!

I have to agree, option3...that part made me wonder if I wanted to continue reading. I'm not into stories like that either, since I'm a person that believes in those relations AFTER marriage.
but as to the question whether the book is offensive, I don't believe so, since nothing happened. I don't believe Stephanie Meyer put it clearly that sex before marriage is not such a smart idea, but she didn't write the book as if it was the best idea either.
and Breaking Dawn doesn't come out till next fall.

Ohmigosh.... I don't put much blame on Stephenie Meyer, since people don't even KNOW it's a bad thing nowadays, yet they don't even know what s-- is because they just think it's something casual.
But I think this seriously hurt her pretty bad. I'm surprised her editors let her get away this.
Or, ha ha, even worse, they might have made her put it in, or have kept it because they wanted girls to fantasize about it or something.

How dare she?! I couldn't agree more. Bella's excuse to not marry Edward was competely irrelevant. Not only that, but it would have been completely possible for them to drive down to Vegas and get married without anybody knowing. Silly Bella. Yeah, the book is great, and I really want to love Jake more, but Eclipse just made me kind of pissed at him. Sure, he was trying to make Bella see that she wanted to stay human, and in that, made her realize that she loved him, but all it did was make it harder for Bella to become a vampire. The whole Edward and Bella sex thing didn't bother me. I dont see why people are making it into such a big deal... I really loved Rosalie's story!!! I can totally see her stalking and killing all the guys, and when it finally came to her fiance, she killed him while wearing the wedding dress!!! I think that Rosalie is so awesome!!! But I do feel really bad for her... For me, I had to re-read Eclipse, because the first time, I wanted to see how it ended, so I read it extremely fast...well fast for me...about 8 1/2 hours. The second time I read it, I got so much more detail and it made MUCH more sense... AnYwHo...I LOVE ECLIPSE!!! p.s. Jake BETTER imprint on somebody, or I'm gonna freak and throw a HUGE fit.

I absolutely agree with that! As the whole imprinting-thing was mentioned for the first time I got really afraid that Jake imprinted on Bella... That would definetely end her relationship to Edward and I love Edward! There's no twilight or new moon or eclipse without him!!

Poor Jacob is getting all this grief from everyone for using Bella even though Edward was doing to exact same thing!! And I don't think Bella was being overly whiny under the circumstances...being stalked and plotted against be an army of newborn vampires, choosing between two soul mates , giving up her entire human life... I think she deserves to whine just a bit. Edward was amazing in Eclipse, beyond belief. Except he lied a LOT, which bothered me...But hey, nobody's perfect so whatever. I agree with everyone who says that Bella's excuse for not marrying Edward was kind of lame, even though I see her point. But I have to say, that my favourite character from Eclipse was Alice. She was hilarious. 'Please please please, Bella if you really love me. Let me do your wedding!' I laughed for five minutes straight.
