Thank you Jane. I understand that we need food, and I myself love meat, I tried to go vegetarain, that so didn't happen. If animals are going to be killed for food, then do it in a humane way. Like KFC what they did to those chickens was unexcusable. And then recently with the cows that are used for burgers and steaks, they were brutalized before they were killed.

yes, my three best friends are vegitarian and I am trying to become a vegan. I personally respect vegans because they do not eat animals ore animals products because of what londonmarie said, the animals might be brutalized before they were killed.

Yep. I believe that the environment is being destroyed without even human beings thinking that they could be killing future cures for diseases and whatnot. It really has become a problem, and I agree with you all. I tried to become a vegetarian but my mom was like NO. But she explained why and I was fine with it. I don't believe animals should be slaughtered so horribly that right there is just horrible.

I agree. I think that humans think that they are very smart, but most of them somehow manage not to be concsious about the things they are doing to destroy the enviroment. I'm not saying we are the only species destroying the enviroment, we are just the biggest contributor. But if we continue to brutalize and slaughter animals, we may soon be the only species left.

My point exactly Jane. Human beings don't realize how important the environment is, and what the consequences will be by destroying it.

Thank you, Sam. I read a book a couple years back, and it was about this. What if we destroy the environment? What if we endanger every species to make room for our own? What if our planet becomes so polluted that we have to create another, brainwash everyone, and start all over? (The book is called "Atherton")

That book sounds good. And yeah. I really wish other human beings would understand what the after effect will be of destroying the environment.

Some people would rather live in delusional states than admit they are wrong.

Right, londonmarie as thing states in Eclipse, "Some people will go to any lengths to delude themselves," he might have been talking about something different, but it is still true. I wish it wasn't.

I see the last post to this thread is months old, but it is really interesting.
Research has shown the narcissism (overblown love of self and sense of entitlement) and self-esteem are going up every year. It is good that people don't hate themselves, but thinking that they are BETTER than others can have very negative consequences. If you think you are better than others and therefore entitled to (take your pick-- anything from cutting ahead in line to shoplifting to having sex with that girl who doesn't want you) take what you want, then your morality is compromised. What is leading to this increase in narcissism and self-esteem? Why do people feel more entitled than they used to 20 or 30 or 50 years ago? Can we reverse this trend?
You can't change other people; you can only change yourself....

Yes of course. That is very true. We humans think that we are better, and that the universe should adapt to us.

Yes. True. If we could stop being so, we could decrease the rate of our "Planet Destruction".
