I got to know Twilight with the German cover, but I like the American covers more. Do you English speaking guys understand the wordplay in the German title by the way?

my favorite is by far the netherlands one, its like the american one, which is already really cute, but the heart makes it that much better, especiaqlly since its like bitten, and its all about the forbidden fruit and bitting it (eating it)

I have the British copy with an abstract, obscene-looking and impossibly skinny Bella on the cover. The cover is quite cold, but I have to admit that that's what arracted me to the book in the first place.

Alright, I'll try to explain. You know the title of the German Twilight is "Biss zum Morgengrauen". "Bis (written with one 's') zum Morgengrauen" means "until dawn""Biss (double 's') " means "bite"So if you tried to translate the whole wordplay, it would be "Bite until dawn". This goes through the whole series in the German versions. The second book is called "Biss zur Mittagsstunde" ("Bite until lunch hour") and the third will be called "Biss zum Abend" ("Bite until the evening") Understandable?

The American version is the original one. Steph herself decided to give the book the apple cover. That's why the American versions are the most fascinating.

I like all but the Britain one. It doesn't fit at all!

I can honestly say I don't like any of them but the US one and the Netherlands one. They're just so fitting and have such a great allusion tying into the book. The other ones just don't make me feel like there's a connection between the cover and the book at all.

Well, book covers don't really have to be related to the books. It's just to get people's attention (and to make them buy the books!) but I've noticed they usually portray the mood of the book. Sometimes they don't but that's just what I think.
