this is actaully a bunch of posts that i wrote and were actually good from another site, all put together, so if they seem disjointed or redundant, so sorry!
Edward, i find him rather pretentious, though truly gorgeous, and caring (if only for bella and no one else). i think that he needs a lesson in manners, though his in the traditional meaning of the word are no-doubt wonderful, what i mean is that the way he acts and treats other people is just condescending, if not unacceptable. But the fact of the matter is, i am in love with edward, and would love to find my own.
you can still have respect for yourself and like someone, though he is condescending he is also gorgeous and occasionally sickeningly sweet. and seeing as we only hear about him from a book, and how amazing he looks, we fall, and hard, because we pass over the flaws that are superficial. and most girls though they may not know it do have a hero complex. and they want some knight in shining armour to resque them and, that is in a sense how edward treats bella, like he always has to resque her. Since none of us have ever found someone this great, or extraordinary, we feel as if we are pushed in a way to him. -mel (alwayssmile877) feel free to discuss!

I totally agree. A lot of my friends think I am so weird to like a guy from a book, but some of them understand.

I know, everybody is like "He's not real how can you like him?" but I would totally date Edward lol. When I read the book it's like I can sortof see what Im reading and I fall in love with him everytime I read the book. He does seem kindof condesending, especially towards werewolves, but I still love him! lol

I agree with all of you but you see lots of my friends have read the book but none of them feel the same way though one of my friends thinks yes he is hot but that he is shallow and to grouchy and that Jacob is better i argue with her all the time and fight with her but we can't seem to sway eachother in our way of thinking ha ha but yeah I'm a major bookworm so I have a large list of favorite characters (odd thing is i've acctually kept track) But Edward is definetally at the top

Ha ha i know this onetime thoughi was having a dream and i was driving and all and then i was at this persons house out of gas so i went into this beautiful house on this ratty old farm but no one was there so i went in and was looking around then the person (a dude might i add) came home and i was in the house so i went outside just as he came to the door and told him about my car out of gas he was really hot to and then he offered me a ride home but we took my car that was out of gas (that was weird) so i was in the front seat and he was in the back seat but the car was moving then all of a sudden he was in the front seat (he moved super fast) so then i knew and i was like EDWARD OH MY GOD it was a very weird dream buts been the only one related to twilight that i have ever had but man was it twisted

Edward is extremely arrogant, and he does seem to ignore everyone else but Bella and his family. He's polite to Bella's friends, or rather, he's polite to Angela - but he doesn't talk to anyone else. He hates Mike and I'm sure that because Jessica hates Bella now, too he wouldn't even give her a second glance.
I think the whole "isolation from humanity" thing has only increased his God-complex. It's still a moot point. We all love him anyway. At this point, I'm starting to think that he could kill someone and we'd all stand around as justify it. LOL.
And, yeah, I'm in love with him too. It's a hard thing to explain, because people who don't read, don't understand.

I agree with you! we would've justified everything that he ever will do and that yes, it will be difficult for those who haven't read the book to understand us.. isn't that why this site was put up? so that we can find others who are like us and therefore will be able to understand us? ;D
