Rosalie is one of the most controversial characters in the book. Most either hate her or lobe her; there are few people I know on the fence with this one.
What did you originally think of Rosalie and how has your opinion changed--if it has--with each successive book?

I've never thought she was really a bad character, just very conceited and self-obsessed. At first I didn't like her because she was so mean to Bella, but she can't help who she is.

I really like her (probably shows in my username...) and when I read the first book for the first time I was "on the fence" with her, but as I continued I liked her more and more.

I don't have a problem with Rosalie. . . I mean my view on her is constantly changing, but right now, I think that I like her character more than what I thought was ever possible.
In the first book, I kind of had a problem with her because she didn't like Bella right off the bat, and I didn't really know her reason for why. . .
Then came New Moon where she was really irritating me until like the very end. . . I thought that it was wrong of her to do that to Edward when it wasn't her story to tell. . .It really made me mad, but as the book progressed she made up for it. I could tell that her feelings torward Bella was changing.
Then lastly in Eclipse, I thought it was really cool how she really does try to have a conversation with Bella. I liked seeing her point of view on being a vampire and it justified her previous actions. She didn't like being a vampire and it made sense for her to dislike people who would willingly give up there humanity.
So I guess all in all I have found Rosalie's character to my liking. She has a good side whether some people refuse to believe it. . . I actually don't mind her.

At the beginning of the series, I absolutley hated Roslie just because of the ways that she treated Bella. Then once you read Eclipse and she told her life story of why she didnt want Bella joining their family my perspective of her change from being someone who was just selfish of what she had, to someone who actually cared about what decisions that Bella made, especially when they involved sacrificing her enitre life to be with Edward and have eternal life.

I absolutely love Rosalie! she as well shows a ton of girl power. she came off a little frigid and apathetic in the first book, but in the later books she really breaks down the wall she has up between her and the rest of the characters. Rosalie has a hard exterior because she doesn't want to show you her weak spots. She wants to protect herself with that hard, cold (not in the literal sense) exterior so she won't come off as weak to the outside world.... I think Rosalie is not as shallow and vain as people think she is.
