Well, hmmm...my day was another bad day - almost as bad as you could possibly get.
On Thursday morning I woke up feeling pretty woozy and even though Thursday's are usually my day off, I had a meeting with my group because our assignment was due the next day and we'd done next to nothing on it. I got there, feeling pretty crappy but kept going anyway, until it got to a point where I just couldn't take it anymore I was feeling that sick. I had to leave - much to my group's displeasure - and I forced myself to walk the two blocks to the bus station where I jumped on, trying not to be sick. I was sick anyway.
Ten minutes later and it finally arrived at the train station and I was sick on the platform in front of quite a few people. Great. Humiliation time. The train staff found me and actually carried me back up to the staff room and made me lie down. I couldn't get in touch with my mum or my grandparents and I was at least an hour's train ride from home. So I was stuck on a bed in the staff room that was about as comfortable as a slab of cement. Finally, an hour later, the staff call an ambulance and my mum turns up just before they arrive. We had to wait for an hour for it to arrive after they called because it was stuck in traffic. They give me this little breathing pen thing which was fantastic, cause a few breaths and I was pretty out of it, all the pain gone.
I wake up in hospital...and they tell me I have food poisoning.
Fantastic.
The first question they asked me was what did I have for breakfast that morning. I told them - McDonalds.
There's your answer. So the place I work at poisoned me? Good to know.
And, if you didn't think it could get any better, I had another group meeting that afternoon I had to cancel, and a friend said they would work out an assignment I had due today with my proffesor, but my group didn't know so they left 20 abusive messages on my phone asking where the hell I was...which was pleasant to work out, as you can imagine. Funnily enough they calmed right down when they discovered that our tutor had already given us an extention because of the circumstances. I was discharged from hospital today, but I haven't been able to eat anything other than chicken soup - and it's driving me crazy because now I can't stand the stuff!
And on top of all that, I'm supposed to work tomorrow, so won't that me a wonderful conversation to have with my boss: "Sorry I can't work today - the food I bought here for breakfast the other day gave me food poisoning."
