An amazing trilogy! Who else loves it? So far there's A Great and Terrible Beauty and Rebel Angels. The Sweet Far Thing comes out in December!

The first one was...okay. But the second one was -surprisingly- really good.

Yeah, I thought a lot of the chapters in the first book were uneventful and boring. Maybe that's just me though ;D
And I don't really like the characters anyway. They just seem like selfish little girls who are messing up their lives with unnecessary complications.

I like hows its placed in that time and really all those women and girls had to look forward to in their life was getting presents getting and money and getting married by rich people.........so those unneccesary complications are merely a way of passing time and having fun for Pippa Anne and Felicity but for Gemma it is just a pain that she can never leave that she never wated to begin with so yeah but all books have boring parts its just how well authors can cover them up and those boring parts mean that everything is going well and there is happiness in there lives when its just one bit of drama after the next it gets kind of crazy like if you've ever read the unseen its like that and i don't think everything will ever all get solved at once

Hehe. I don't think I would mind all THAT much if my only concerns were presents, money and getting married. But I guess you're right about all the boring bits. I'm just a picky book reader.

I looove the entire series! I must agree with Absolution and say that the opression and expectations in thoses times were absolutely horrible, but the books are fantastic all the same! ;D
