I definitely agree with your..not so messed up train of thought. It's very depressing to see Edward trying to convince Bella and himself that she doesn't really want to be a vampire...

I know!!! The idea of Edward...almost preparing himself for an eternity without Bella makes me want to cry!!! (Well, maybe not an eternity, maybe just until she dies and then he provokes the Volturi and then dies. Unless he can still feel the agony of loosing her after he turns to ash (like he considers in Rosalie's News)) Wow, am I trying to make myself depressed??? I don't know, but it sure is working.

Ladies, this is a discussion about Bella. Edward has his own thread to play in. As a character, I see Bella as a strong, female character. Here she is, clumsy and ordinary, thrown into a world of mythological monsters with far-from-ordinary looks, strength, and speed among other things. She is also incredibly mentally stable and mature; many adults I know would not be able to deal with what she has with as much poise and grace (mental not physical ).

I'm sorry, I wasn't trying to talk about Edward...my bad
And I couldn't have described Bella any better than you did just now...Saying that she is extremely mentally stable is a great way to descrbe her... I do love how clumsy Bella is, it's just cute, and I love her personality and the way she handles things, like when Edward is taking her away from Forks and Charlie after the meadow scene, her reaction shows that she cares for her loved ones more than she cares for herself, a very redeeming quality, if you ask me.

She's so nOT a strong female character,
Edited by Alcyone: Watch what you post. You may not like Bella but, if you're going to argue your point, then you need to provide proper backing for it, not start making up facts.

I can't agree with you. I think of Bella as the young and innocent type for sure.

Excuse me? First, when was Victoria's Secret even mentioned in the books? Second, she is hardly wanton. She's about to turn nineteen and wants greater intimacy with her now fiance. It's a normal response.
For your next posts, watch how you express yourself. Everyone is entitled to an opinion but those opinions do not have to include slurs or insults.

i agree with those who say Bella is a strong character. She has been taken out of the normal human reality and has now discovered thats she's been co-existing with vampires and werewolves. That alone could make any normal person go into shock or denial. Buts she has handled it with an amazing amount of courage. On top of that losing Edward (in New Moon for those who aren't quite as caught up as some of us) was in my opinion the most difficult thing she had to go thru. When you find someone you have that sort of connection with, where you find yourself not only wanting them but needing them. When Bella found Edward she found her soulmate and to have to lose that and think your never gonna get it back...who wouldn't just fall right out of reality. Living thru all she's gone thru was hard enough then having to do it all without the one person that gave you the strenght to go on i can't even imagine all the emotions she must have felt. And now even having her beloved Edward back in her arms again she still has a lot more heading her way. Marriage and lets not forget becoming a VAMPiRE!!!
i gotta say the girl is tough!!

i totally love bella as a character, but i'd love for her to be with jacob but it is a really bad idea if you think about it...! remember leah and sam? jacob hasn't imprinted yet so i personally think bella should stay with edward, that would be easier for her bcuz she wouldn't have A) broken edward's heard<metophirically!, and we all know he'd porbably take her back> B)she would have her heart broken when jacob imprints <like leah> and C) when jacob does imprint, if him and bella have been 2gether 4 awhile, won't the cullens loose the ability of seeing her...i m not 2 sure on C but i remember alice having visions of bella dissapearing....so if she dissapears she can't go bac 2 edward!!!!! i just hope bella can still b friends with jake cuz unless he imprinted on her nd didnt tell any1 their relationship is gonna turn pritty bad like leah and sam..........................plz plz plz let her stay with edward, stephanie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree. But I kind of don't want Bella to be a vampire because I just love the way that she is now...but I really want her and Edward to be together.

Yes I agree that Bella is a really strong character. I loved her in both Twilight and New Moon! Not only did she move to Forks for her Mom, she also tried to go on with her life, after Edward had left her. I know that some might not see this as strength, but it does to me. . . I don't know if I would choose to leave somewhere I was happy, or to keep on going when my purpose had just left me saying "I don't love you anymore".
But with all strong characters she did have some points where she did annoy the heck out of me. . .

Yeah in Eclipse Bella began to degress, in my opinion, as a character. She was whining about anything that did not go her way and couldn't seem to stand up for herself.

Yes, Bella is an average human that many people can relate to, and that's why I like Bella so much. I mean she is completely normal besides being in love with a Vampire haha, but who wouldn't?!?!?!

I agree that in Twilight and New Moon, she was a strong character, and that in Eclipse she became whiny and more damsel in distress.
