On Stephenie Meyer's Myspace page there was a note about why she took Emma Roberts off her site. It seemed that she recieved many, many emails from fans declaring their undying hate--or strong dislike--for Miss Roberts as an actress.
You all really should go read it--it's pretty funny. I'm somewhat relieved that I was saved from having to send in an email of the same nature myself...

OMG Big News!!!!! This paragraph is off of Stephenie Meyer's web site-
"I am very excited to announce that Twilight has been optioned by Summit Entertainment (http://www.summit-ent.com/). The deal with MTV Film (and friends) lapsed in April, and since that time my agents and I have been negotiating with Summit on a great contract that I think will really protect the story. The people at Summit seem quite enthusiastic about doing Twilight the right way, and I'm looking forward to working with them. The story will be optioned for the next fifteen months, when Summit will have the opportunity to buy the property. I will keep you updated on any developments as soon as I find out about them."
I know that means it's probably going to be years before they start filming but still it's pretty official!!!!!! Grant it they may not make it at all (sad thought) but I'm content for now!!! Especially since they want to do it the RIGHT way!!! HAPPINESS!!!!

Agh, they just got a director and a writer! It's actually happening!!!
Like I said before, I don't know whether I'm happy or sad...
Although I'm kind of nervous about how the writer also wrote The O.C.--I don't want Twilight to be some kind of soap opera...(No offense to those who like the O.C.--it's just a bit too dramatic for my taste.)

And they're talking about shooting in the actual Forks.

I hope they do. They need to get the setting right...and where better than the actual place?

Breaking News:Bella has been cast! Kristen Stewart, of Panic Room and Zathura fame, will be playing the role of Bella. The movie will begin production in 2008. You can read the full press release and Stephenie's comments here. Mod Note:While you don't have to agree with every casting and, sometimes the person you wanted will not get the role, that does not give you the right to begin attacking the actors or the casting workers. If you don't like Kristen, then that is too bad but any inflammatory remarks about her or her role will be deleted. It doesn't matter if she isn't Bella in your mind, Hollywood has several miles long of products to change appearances. All that matter is that she can act and that she would be able to convince us she is Bella which, with three Young Actor nominations under her belt and a movie where she starred opposite acting titan Jodie Foster and pulled off her role, she most likely could. Since Bella has been cast, there is no room for speculation as to who could play her. If you preferred Emily Browning, sorry but she didn't get the part. Feel free to speculate on the other characters. I nominate Squidward for Edward. Even the names have end-rhymes! ;D

Sure, Emily Browning might seem physically better for Bella, but I think Kristen Stewart has a rawness and realness about her, and Im growing endeared to her as Bella. I think she'll be good.
If Hayden Christensen were younger, I definitly could imagine him as a good Edward.
I am modifying, now that i have seen 'Edward' by Robert Pattinson. Awesome! I always did think Cedric was gorgeous.

kristen stewart is an excellent choice for bella. she has the experience with every theme that twilight puts forth. i hope she brings to life the bella that we all know and love. and i can't wait to see who they pick to play the vampires. the guy they picked for james is perfect! sooo creepy! ;D
and i like stephenies choice for alice! just chop off her hair first. lol

I agree. I dont have any problem with Kristen as Bella, and actually, I'm kind of happy that she was cast. She's growing on me, and I think that she can do the roll justice (as much as anybody who's not Bella could) Also, I'm more than thrilled that Robert Pattinson has been cast as Edward!!! I was watching one of those "Who's Your Edward?" videos and he was one of the options. My thought was "OOOh, he'd be good...too bad he'll probably never be cast..." But he was!!! And he IS Edward!!! Not that I'm just going to abandon Gasrard Ulliel as Edward. He's who I see when I read...and when I dream...and when class lectures and notes just aren't enough to intrest me and I daydream about Edward running through the forest, the wind in his hair while the rain stains spots a dark color......He's still my Edward, is what I'm saying XD Okay, I'm gonna go scream and jump and giggle like the little fan girl that I am now *runs in frantic circles*
