Okay, I know we have a thread for all the Harry Potter books, but those who haven't read the Deathly Hallows won't want to look at that, right? I know I wouldn't.
So may I warn you now, this has SPOILERS for every single one of the HP books, mainly the seventh.
Okay, what did you think of the DH? Was it everything you hoped it would be?

I'm pretty satisfied with it. I liked the idea of the whole Hallows thing much better than the horcruxes. And I cried when Harry brought his parents and Lupin and Sirius back with the resurection stone. The whole King's Cross thing was weird though, was the screaming child thing supposed to be the last part of Voldemort's soul?

The only thing I was disappointed with was the Epilogue. It read like a lousy piece of fan fiction to me. OMG, I CRIED when Harry was talking to Dumbledore. Cuz he's all like "Come here you wonderful boy" or something like that. I actually was quite teary through a lot of the second half of the book. Like when Dobby died and Harry was in Snape's memories. Heartbreaking... Snape was looking into Harry's eyes just because they were Lily's. *Tears* WHY DID SNAPE HAVE TO DIE??? His heart was in the right place all along in my opinion. AND WHY DID LUPIN HAVE TO DIE??? I LOVED HIM!!! Yeah, the whole thing with Draco being the rightful owner of the Elder Wand was really confusing. My God, it was SO COOL how Harry was calling Voldemort Tom Riddle. Haha, the sword was transported away from Griphook to Neville. That was awesome when he chopped of Nagini's head!!! Whoohoo Neville! OMG, haha, wasn't that scene funny where Harry, Ron, and Hermione go into the Room of Requirement hilarious? :PHermione like throws herself on Ron after he mentions the House Elves and Harry's like "OI! there's a war going on!" or something like that. I laughed soo hard. ;D Things we were supposed to find out or I thought would be bigger: who else was at Godric's Hollow the night Harry's parents died, what was Dudley's worst memory, what the heck was up with the veil, why was it significant that Harry had his mother's eyes (thought that would be bigger), who performed magic late in life. OVER ALL That was the best book I ever read in my entire life!!! Three cheers for JKR!!!

And I'm back.
Let me just get this out of my system.
FRED!!!! *screams*
Done now.
Fred and Lupin and Tonks. And they had a little baby. One peeve I had was that George didn't really show up much, just him holding his twin's head. I thought he would be given more to say or do, after all, it's his twin.
And Mrs. Weasley..."NOT MY DAUGHTER, YOU pregnant dog!"
I was hoping Neville would be the one beat Bellatrix but Mrs. Weasley...I would have done the same. One child dead and another in danger? Avada Keadavra would have been the least I'd do.
At least, we have Percy back. Though I wanted to throttle him.
And yeah, petaldust, that last chapter was like a second-rate fanfic. I've actually read fanfic by twelve-year olds that were better than that. That last chapter was utterly disappointing. But as for the rest of the book, I can't complain.
Except about Hedwig. What the hell did Hedwig do to warrant death?

I think killing Hedwig was just to shock everyone and warn them there'd be a lot more deaths that were just cruel. I loved the scene where Mrs. Weasley kills Bellatrix but I also had hoped it would be Neville's job.

I think one of the reasons Hedwig died was because where on earth would she fit into the rest of the story? Even if she lived, she'd just end up with the Weasley's or something, unable to be with Harry on his hunt. Who else thought Ron was the best in this book? I know he was a little annoying in places, but I thought he was hilarious and sweet. Oh man, his lines kept me laughing for hours! And he just acted like a normal person would in the situation. Hermione and Harry aren't exactly 'normal' Loved the concept of the Deathly Hallows, it explained a lot about Harry's cloak and such. Though I didn't really get why the Elder Wand was Draco's :S Yeah, the last chapter was really disapointing, I'd have preffered it if she left it at everyone celebrating Voldemort's death. FRREEEEDDDDDD!!!! One of my favourite characters! Poor George, he loses his ear and his twin in the same year. And I'm mourning Mad-Eye too. He just ruled! Yeah, that's all I can think of

OMG, Ron!!! I love him! He was perfect in this book. Except when he walked out on them but everyone knew he'd be back before long! Yeah, I loooved the idea of the Deathly Hallows even though the Elder Wand/Draco thing confused me a lot. Fred, Tonks, Lupin, Dobby, Mad-Eye, Colin Creevy, Snape, etc. The deaths were so cruel!

I agree with pretty much everything here:
Didn't much like the epilogue, sobbed when Harry 'died,' was confused by Draco getting the Elder Wand, and thought is was the best book!
I made a list while reading the book of random things--Horcruxes and their current state (destroyed, captured, etc.), Death list, etc....and I also guessed partially right, that the doe patronus was Lily's!
And, okay, it was really Snape's. But only because it was Lily's first...
1. I can't believe Snape killed Dumbledore ON DUMBLEDORE'S ORDERS!!!! 2. I can't believe Snape loved LILY POTTER!!!! 3. I can't believe Fred DIED!!!! 4. I can't believe Lupin AND Tonks DIED after they had a SON!!!!
I thought the middle was a bit slow, during the search--but the beginning and end were innntennnnse.
Overall, amazing book--best I've ever read.
I can't believe it's over!!

Loved the concept of the Deathly Hallows, it explained a lot about Harry's cloak and such. Though I didn't really get why the Elder Wand was Draco's :S In the sixth book, when he barges into the tower, he disarms Dumbledore, effectively defeating him and setting himself as owner of the Elder wand. Then, Harry beats him which is why it's now his.

Ah, yes, thanks for that, I get it now. I read that book Mugglenet's What Will Happen In Harry Potter 7. They were correct on many of the things of the book. :oThey knew the whole R.A.B. thing, that Snape loved Lily, that Snape killed Dumbledore on Dumbledore's orders, that Lupin would die, that Harry was sort of a Horcrux, and they also predicted a lot about the Horcruxes that was true. I am also really upset it's over!

Oh, Ron...I love that guy. I was so happy when he came back, and I just love Harry's line 'No, he knew you'd always want to come back.'

I know, that part was so perfect. I thought it'd be all awkward when he got back but Harry knew just what to say and they were hugging and stuff.

Yeah, that was sweet.
And ohh that's why the wand was Draco's. Thanks for explaining, makes more sense *shifty eyes*

Goes to show you how many times I've read it. And analyzed it. *whistles innocently*
Who else here bawled in the chapter The Prince's Tale?
"But this is touching, Severus," said Dumbledore seriously. "Have you grown to care for the boy, after all?"
"For him?" shouted Snape. "Expecto Patronum!"
From the tip of his wand burst the silver doe. ... Dumbledore watched her fly away, and as her silvery glow faded he turned back to Snape, and his eyes were full of tears.
"After all this time?"
"Always," said Snape.
